Nababarta, Guwahati: On the very first day of her tenure, the District Governor of Lions Clubs International, District 322G, Seema Goenka, made a heartfelt announcement to gift 100 bicycles to school and college-going girls, a gesture aimed at promoting education and empowering young women from underprivileged backgrounds. This noble initiative, fully sponsored by the Tribeni Foundation, is being carried out in phases. The first lot of 30 bicycles was distributed on July 21, 2024, during the District Installation Ceremony in the esteemed presence of international leaders. The second batch of 30 bicycles was distributed today to deserving beneficiaries identified by various clubs based on their membership growth. The remaining 50 bicycles will be distributed on June 28 in Silchar, targeting beneficiaries from the Barak Valley Area, as selected by eligible clubs. This project, which DG Seema Goenka envisioned during her term as Second Vice District Governor, has earned wide appreciation from the public and is making a meaningful difference in the lives of girls by supporting their educational journey. The project was handled by GMT Coordinator Sujit Bakharedia and GST Coordinator Ravi Agarwal.
